The Bow Valley Freestyle "Try Freestyle" event allows an opportunity for your athlete to experience what it's like to ski and train with our coaches. This also allows our coaches to gain an understanding of your athlete's abilities and what program could best suit them for the 2025-2026 ski season. While participation in a Try Freestyle event is not mandatory ahead of 2025-26 season registration, it is highly encouraged. 

 

Try Freestyle happens Wednesday, March 19; 6:00 - 8PM at Winsport.

 

Please arrive 15-20 minutes early, dressed to ski and with a valid pass for the hill. Check in with a coach or a volunteer inside the day lodge. We will engage in a quick discussion with you on your athlete's skiing abilities before being assigned a coach and group for the duration of the event. 

 

Your athlete will be ready to be picked up at the same location as you dropped them off. Please connect with the coach your child was with to discuss where they may fit into our Bow Valley programing (Fundamentalz or Freestylerz). 

 

Athletes who attend a Try Freestyle event are not guaranteed a spot for the 2025-26 season, bur they will be given priority access to register following returning athletes. 

 

Registration for Try Freestyle is free, and open to athletes aged 9 and up. Make sure you purchase a day pass for Winsport, and complete the registration for the Try Freestyle membership with Freestyle Alberta (included in the Registration process).
